The exhibition is set around the Ara Pacis - an altar which is one of the most important pieces of Augustan art and historically has symbolised peace and prosperity - and spreads througout the museum, creating an exact chronological retrospective, visible to passers by and accentuating the ties which bind Valentino to Rome and Rome to Valentino.
